Street Store Hartbeespoort

The STREET STORE PROJECT is a worldwide project that demonstrates love in a practical way by reaching out to less privileged members of the community.

In collaboration with members of the Christian forum and churches STREET STORE HARTIES was set for 26th May 2018. The goal was to spread the Word and each visitor to be spoilt with a set of clothes, shoes, a blanket, and delicious food.

Containers were placed in church buildings and other designated areas for people to give their donations. Posters were handed out to encourage involvement and support for this project.  The items were then collected and sorted.  This also created a great opportunity where the various church groups worked together and more volunteers from the community connected. Closer to the due date a serious need still existed for more blankets.  Donations were called for and blankets were purchased.

It was an early start to the day for all volunteers as they had to hang the clothes; set out the shoes and the food stall to ensure that they are ready to assist all the visitors.  A queue to enter was formed early in anticipation to enter.  The gates opened and a volunteer connected and walked with a visitor or two.  How precious to even see children talking to children while connecting and sharing; which was part of the main goal.  Praying together, lives were impacted. An estimated 1200+ visitors received 4800 items of clothing and 450 blankets were distributed.  Everyone deserves to feel empowered and dignified and those who rarely get the opportunity to experience it enjoyed the morning.

Donate to HOPE Foundation was part of this blessed event and was fortunate to contribute new blankets for this event as winter was approaching. This was made possible by the donations received from our friends and associates in this ministry. We really thank God for His grace and provision and also our friends for generous financial contributions.
